65% percent off means you can buy 65% more fabric!!!! (I told my teacher's I understood math, now I'm showing them LOL)

Sale ends December 2, 2013.

  1. Hi there. I hate to start with a negative comment, but please read on, it gets better.... First off, your math is a bit off... Now that we got that out of the way, here is the positive: You can buy not 65% more, but 185.7% more, for a grand total of 285.7% of what you would be buying at full price. Here's how: if you had a budget of $100, and the fabric was $10 per unit (whatever your unit is), you would only have enough for 10 units. Now the fabric is 65% off, that means you are only paying $3.50 per unit or $35 for those 10 units. But you still have a budget of $100. So what do you do? Buy more fabric of course. 65% more? No, ma'am, because if you bought 65% more, you would only be buying 16.5 of those "units", which would cost you $57.75. You still have money to spend! So keep buying... up to 28.57 units. That's right! 28.57 units x $3.50 per unit = $99.99. So go buy fabric! Hope you like my math ;)

  2. Now that's a math lesson, Dominique, that we can all enjoy!

Thanks for your two cents!
