So I have finished my Charley Harper inspired ladybug mini for my guild swap.
I am really quite taken with it. I used this tutorial to face the quilt and it is a little wonky, so I am kind of sad about that. But overall, a success!
And below is my favourite little guy, the middle one.
Thanks for checking it out!
This week seems to be about colour! As usual, please click on the picture to be taken to the original site.
My guild is having a mini quilt swap and I have my friend Julie as a partner. Luckily she is not a blog reader and so I can share pictures of her quilt in progress. Ladybugs mean a lot to her and she likes Charley Harper, so I decided to emulate some of his drawings. Some are direct copies and some are one I designed myself.
This is my sketch and placement guide for all of the spots.
I haven’t gotten too far along as this is my third try with how to complete this. I have settled on machine appliqué and am finally happy with the result. I will be adding legs and feelers as well.
I hope you will all come back and see the finish!
As I am forever coming up with new ideas and ways to make money, I thought I would show you my latest venture. I am hoping to sell some at my craft fair on the weekend, as well as online.
This one is mine and I love it!
Another great choice!
Ready to make more!
This has been a bit of a long journey with a learning curve, but I am really enjoying the end result. They use lobster clasps so they stay on your wrist easily and the leathers are soft so they move with you. Until next time!
