Give me Liberty, or give me death!

OK... so I don't feel *that* strongly about Liberty of London fabrics... but it is close LOL!

I just wanted to share a finish from this morning. I bought some of Very Berry Handmade's hexie packs and started there. I decided on this design just a little while ago.

Sorry for the iPod pic... but like everyone else, I find it so convenient to use nowadays. The top and bottom fabric is from a summer dress my Mom made herself and wore when I was a little girl. It is still in excellent condition, and is my only Liberty I have of substantial size. Although, as I used this for the back as well, there is not quite so much anymore.

Anyway, short post, just wanted to share :)

  3. One of my customers gave me a small shopping bag full of Liberty fabrics. She said she only sews with Kaffe Fassett fabrics and would I like them. OMG! I tried to look calm and said, "Oh sure, I'll take them". After she left, I laid them all out and there were almost 15 yards of fabric from fat quarter to over a yard pieces! I made a quilt right away, and you can find it on my blog, wazoonewsbits.blogspot.com. Pretty cool, eh?

  5. I like the flowers running across the pillow, but the special part is using your mom's dress for the panels and backing. What a special way to treasure the fabric and her.

  8. I adore this pillow! I still can't believe how lucky I am that you gave it to me. I didn't know the top and bottom fabric came from your moms dress, now it's even more special to me! Thank you!!!
