OK... so I don't feel *that* strongly about Liberty of London fabrics... but it is close LOL!
I just wanted to share a finish from this morning. I bought some of Very Berry Handmade's hexie packs and started there. I decided on this design just a little while ago.
Sorry for the iPod pic... but like everyone else, I find it so convenient to use nowadays. The top and bottom fabric is from a summer dress my Mom made herself and wore when I was a little girl. It is still in excellent condition, and is my only Liberty I have of substantial size. Although, as I used this for the back as well, there is not quite so much anymore.
Anyway, short post, just wanted to share :)
Love this - and the stitching is perfect too - a nice detail :)
ReplyDeleteMmmmm just lovely!
ReplyDeleteSo cute!!! I'm loving hexies!
ReplyDeleteThat turned out very cute!
ReplyDeleteSuch a cute pillow, I love the hexies and the chunky black stitches.
ReplyDeleteOne of my customers gave me a small shopping bag full of Liberty fabrics. She said she only sews with Kaffe Fassett fabrics and would I like them. OMG! I tried to look calm and said, "Oh sure, I'll take them". After she left, I laid them all out and there were almost 15 yards of fabric from fat quarter to over a yard pieces! I made a quilt right away, and you can find it on my blog, wazoonewsbits.blogspot.com. Pretty cool, eh?
ReplyDeleteAwww this came out so well! It's beautiful!!
ReplyDeleteVery pretty!
ReplyDeleteI like the flowers running across the pillow, but the special part is using your mom's dress for the panels and backing. What a special way to treasure the fabric and her.
ReplyDeleteI bought the same pack of hexies from Very Berry. I am basting now.
ReplyDeleteYour hexie pillow is great! I love the way you used the hexies. And I love hexies!
ReplyDeleteI adore this pillow! I still can't believe how lucky I am that you gave it to me. I didn't know the top and bottom fabric came from your moms dress, now it's even more special to me! Thank you!!!
