Pretty Little Pouch Swap

The Pretty Little Pouch Swap is one of many I am part of on Flickr. I hadn't planned on doing this round until I saw some of the mosaics being made, and as inevitably happens, I signed up. I don't actually *need* anymore pouches but it is hard to resist the lure of someone making something just. for. you.

My partner's requests were pretty simple, yet for some reason I blanked on any ideas and started panicking. I thought of a million apologies to give my swap Mama about how I couldn't come up with something and so I was flaking. Then, I started reading her wishes again... and again... and once again. I pulled fabrics that suited her style. I went through my exhaustive list of patterns and tutorials for pouches. And then I sewed.

I had purchased this pattern awhile ago from Connecting Threads and hadn't yet used it. I learnt quite a few new tricks, such as binding my inner seams, and had fun making it. Next time though I will try and use one piece of fabric and not make my own LOL... I am horrible at math and it almost did me in!

I added the ring on the side so my partner can decide to use a strap or not, and I also included three different straps to suit her different moods. I sure hope she likes it and I will share with you the pouch being made for me when it arrives.
