A hit and a miss

I told you all that I would be back with my thoughts on my Spinach and Artichoke Dip Soup. While I really wanted to love it, I just didn't. It was ok the first night but I couldn't make myself eat it the second night, I am thinking maybe just too much spinach?

So that was my miss. For my hit I am sharing my challenge piece from January's Mighty Lucky Quilting Club Challenge. This is a year long club in which each month a you are taught a (hopefully) new technique and different ways to use it. This month was Krista from Spotted Stones and the challenge was to create using bias tape. Someone in the challenge posted Picasso's line drawing of a bum which reminded me of my favourite of his line drawings.

Not much of a surprise there eh? I am still not sure how I want to finish it off, so for now it remains a flimsy.

Soup's on!

If you know me, then you know I love soups. I love making soups. I love eating soups. I can stay up into the wee hours looking up new recipes. Last week I made the Tomato Artichoke Soup from A Couple Cooks and it was divine! So flavourful and quick enough that you could serve it to unexpected guests within 20 minutes!

While grocery shopping today I made sure to stock up on the tin goods for this so I can make it whenever I crave it next. Being a single person my soups have to freeze well and this one does beautifully! I also added some wild rice to one bowlful to help fill it out for a work lunch. YUM!

Next on my list is a Spinach and Artichoke Dip soup! I will let you know how it turns out :)

First Quarter Finish-a-Long

This will be my first time participating in the Finish-a-Long and I am hoping it will help keep me motivated.

1. I would like to get my Round and Round baby quilt finished and in the shop. It needs to be quilted and bound.

2. I must complete my mini quilt for my guild's swap the the DC Modern Quilt guild. This will involve turning these scraps into a background.

3. I want to finish my Granny Square quilt I am making for the shop.

4. I would like to finish my Aunt Edna quilt which has only had a couple of blocks left to do for over a year now. (Please ignore the oddly placed photo)

5. I would also like to get two new sets of placemats in the shop.

I am linking up with SLO studio.
